From the Garcias on We Are Water
On board We Are Water we are in the trade winds, with cooler temperatures than expected, even at the latitude of the Canary Islands we wear a thermal jacket. Here we had light winds, then we decided to go west away from rest of the fleet, while they kept going south. We think about it, and after consulting the weather forecasts with our navigation routing programme, we decided to sail west of the Canary Islands.
It is a commitment in the medium term, looking for a good position to cross the doldrums. We will have to wait a few days to know the answer. The fleet ahead us is running south faster than us. We are happy that our friends from GAES Centros Auditivos and One Planet, One Ocean & Pharmaton are in good shape.Yesterday we did some physical checks. Weekly we perform measurements (take the pressure, heart rate, temperature, abdominal crease, and measurement of urine) for medical study and obtain the variation of hormonal, metabolic and anthropometric parameters during the three months of racing.--
