Los cuatro primeros barcos de la regata están de lleno en los cuarenta rugientes haciendo buenos progresos hacia el Este, al norte de la zona de exclusión. Los siguientes tres están a punto de probar vientos más fuertes a medida que progresan hacia el Sur. Durante las próximas 24 a 36 horas tendrán además una pequeña ayuda, ya que una gran depresión se está formando en la zona sur central del Atlántico, enviando viento del Oeste hacia el Norte, trayéndoles viento mucho más fuerte y mar más formada, incluso para el Spirit of Hungary.

00Z MONDAY (26-JAN-2015):
1) High pressure (1018mb) near 26S/35W. The subtropical ridge east of
this high lies along 22S, with E/SE winds extending north to 23S east
of a minor trough 25S/29W to 28S/34W.
2) High pressure (1021mb) near 35S/19W is moving east.
3) A low pressure (1003mb) near 42S/34w. Strong Níly winds are blowing in
the northeast quadrant of this system between the low pressure and
high pressure to the northeast.
4) Strong low pressure (969mb) near 53S/10E supports a cold front
wrapping out of the low and extending to 50S/20E to 45S/19E to 38S/10E
to 34S/05W.
5) A weak high (1008mb) is near 44S/34E with a north-south ridge axis
extending south of the high and moving quickly east.
6) The Indian Ocean high (1026mb) is located near 34S/60E.
7) Low pressure (981mb) is located at 54S/53E.

00Z TUESDAY (27-JAN-2015):
1) The low that moved southeast out of Brazil will be absorbed into a
deeper low pressure (977mv) near 52S/26W. A cold front will extend
from this low pressure to 50S/20W to 41S/23W to 35S/35W.
2) High pressure (1023mb) moves east/east-southeast to 35S/00E will ridge
back toward the west-northwest near 32S/15W. Another ridge will be
extending east along 37-38S south of the Cape of Good Hope.
3) There will be a strong Wíly flow between the ridge along 37-38S and
deep low pressure (972mb) near 57S/25E.
4) The Indian Ocean high (1025mb) will be centered near 34S/57E, with a
sharp ridge extending south of the high along 56E.

00Z WEDNESDAY (28-JAN-2015):
1) A broad, high amplitude trough will develop over the south Atlantic.
The trough axis will be roughly along about 15W from 55S to 30S. Deep
surface low (969mb) at 53S/16W. Generally NW flow to the east of the
trough axis across the Meridian to 15E ñ south of high pressure
heading toward waters southwest of the Cape of Good Hope. West of the
tough generally SW flow to 35W.
2) High pressure (1024mb) will be moving southwest of the Cape of Good
Hope near 37S/10E, ridging east along 38S. A ridge axis will lie north
to south along 15E.
3) Another high latitude low will be near 60S/50E with a cold front
extending from 50S/60E to 35S/39E. NWíly gales ahead (east) of the
front, shifting to S/SW winds west of the front back to 40E tending W
back to 30E.
4) The Indian Ocean high (1019mb) will move to 34S/65E.

00Z THURSDAY (29-JAN-2015):
1) The high amplitude trough over the south Atlantic moves to have an
axis along about 00E. Deep low pressure (970mb) near 53S/8W with an
occluded front to 53S/8E, then a cold front to 45S/06E to 37S/00E to
28S/18W. East of the front Strong NW winds gale force or stronger to
20E. West of the front winds shift SW and easing considerably for
about 5-10 deg longitude. Then building Wíly winds further west to 10W,
tending SW to 23W.
2) High pressure (1021mb) moves south of South Africa to a position near
40S/28E. A ridge will extending south of the high along about 33E.
3) The old Indian Ocean high will be weakening and elongating east along
42S.
4) A strong cold front will lie from 45S/73E to 35S/50E, with strong SW
flow back to the high pressure axis along 33E.
