En tête de course, Cheminées Poujoulat est sorti des vents forts de secteur nord pour trouver des vents d'ouest mollissants au fur et à mesure qu'ils approchent des côtes marocaines. Ils naviguent à la périphérie d'une dépression située dans leur nord sur le golfe de Cadix. Ils devraient ainsi pouvoir longer les côtes du Maroc jusque Gibraltar.

Neutrogena et GAES Centros Auditivos sont toujours dans les alizés de l'Atlantique Nord et font route vers une dorsale dans leur nord. Ils en ont encore pour deux jours avant de rejoindre la dorsale et virer de bord vers l'est pour mettre le cap sur Gibraltar.

Le Pot au noir est plutôt étendu et les vents sont faibles. Sa traversée risque d'être longue pour We Are Water et One Planet One Ocean & Pharmaton. Elle devrait être plus aisée dans l'ouest que dans l'est. Les deux équipages ne subiront l'influence des alizés de NE que quand ils auront franchi l'équateur.

Les conditions ne s'améliorent pas pour Renault Captur qui navigue le long des côtes brésiliennes à hauteur du Cabo Frio dans des vents très faibles, variables. les conditions ne devraient pas s'améliorer, mais des vents de nord pourraient s'établir progressivement à partir de demain. Spirit of Hungary bénéficie toujours d'un honnête régime de NW à l'avant d'une zone de hautes pressions et devrait rester dans ces conditions favorables quelques temps.

00Z SATURDAY (21-MAR-2015)
1)    Low pressure (993mb) located near 44S/49W. Strong S’ly push west of
the low up the Argentinian coast to Rio de la Plata.
2)    Weak low pressure (1011mb) further offshore to the east-northeast near
38N/32W. This low will be weakening with time.
3)    Weak high pressure (1014mb) south-southeast of Cabo Frio. There will
be weak winds around this low and well to the east of Cabo Frio, north
to 21S and east to 30W.
4)    South Atlantic trade winds 21S to 09S. Trades moderate, but unsteady
throughout. Trades will be quickly easing north of 09S to the southern
Doldrums boundary which shifts south to near 05S.
5)    Doldrums generally between 05S and the Equator. Light and variable
winds within the doldrums, with scattered showers and a few
thunderstorms.
6)    North of the Equator, NNE/NE trade winds hold moderate to near 30N.
Winds do veer NE with distance north.
7)    High (1035mb) southwest of Ireland with a ridge southwest to just west
of the Azores to 28N/42W.
8)    Low (1007mb) at 37N/07W or over southern Portugal. Strong N/NNE winds
between the low and high pressure ridge to the west. These winds
extend south to 30N.
9)    Light and variable winds south of the low across the Gulf of Cadiz to
near Madeira.
00Z SUNDAY (22-MAR-2015)
1)    High (1022mb) near 43S/62W. Low (972mb) near 47S/37W with a  cold
front wrapping from 45S/30W to 36S/34W to 30S/44W. A broad flow of
S/SW wind extending from the Falkland Islands north to near 30S behind
the front.
2)    South Atlantic high pressure (1025mb) 31S/09W with a ridge extending
west-northwest to 23S/33W. Variable winds south of the ridge west of
30W and south to 30S.
3)    North of the ridge, trade winds are generally N’ly at 23S veering NE
at 20S ENE at 15S. North of 15S, trade winds generally E/ESE to the
southern doldrums boundary near 4S.
4)    Doldrums located from 04S to near the Equator. Light and variable
within the doldrums east of 28W. West of 28S, light SE/E winds.
5)    The northern Doldrums boundary between Equator and 01N. NE trades fill
north of 01N and are fresh NE’lies between 05N and 13N.
6)    High (1028mb) near 37N/34W and a low (1009mb) southwest of the Gulf of
Cadiz centered near 35N/10W. Fresh N’ly winds between the low pressure
and high pressure centers.
7)    A light SW flow will be along the Moroccan coast just southeast of the
low center. This flow will back to light S’ly outside Gibraltar Strait.
00Z MONDAY (23-MAR-2015)
1)    Low (1009mb) southeast of Rio near 26S/40W. Fresh N’lies winds east of
the low center to 30W.
2)    South Atlantic trade winds north of 20S, strongest between 16S and 07S.
3)    Southern doldrums boundary near 03S. Light and variable conditions
within the doldrums north to the equator.
4)    North of the Equator, NE trade winds extend north to 30N.
5)    High (1031mb) near 38N/33W. Low (1007mb) over southern Portugal.
Strong N’ly winds between the low and high south to 30N, between 30W
to near 10W.
6)    Light W’ly winds across most of the Gulf of Cadiz south of the
Portuguese low. Light and variable conditions from Gibraltar east
across the Alboran Sea.
