Un courant de vents d'ouest favorables se maintient au nord de la zone d'exclusion des glaces pour la plupart des bateaux de la flotte. Le leader, Cheminées Poujoulat, va bientôt affronter des conditions tempétueuses. Les bateaux au sud de la Nouvelle-Zélande négocient la bordure sud de l'anticyclone mais le passage d'un front devrait générer plus d'air dans la journée. A l'arrière, We are Water va rencontrer des vents légers quand One Planet One Ocean et Spirit of Hungary vont subir des coups de vents.

00Z TUESDAY (17-FEB-2015):
1) Ridge along 38S from southwest of Australia to Tasmania. A high center
(1023mb) over the Australian Bight near 37S/130E. Another high (1020mb)
will be located just east of Tasmania.
2) Low pressure (951mb) near 56S/100E has a cold front from 54S/106E to
47S/98E to 42S/88E. Strong NW winds ahead of the cold frong extend
north to 41S and east to 120E.
3) Low pressure (1010mb) near 48S/138E with an associated weak cold front
to 43S/130E to 40S/120E.
4) A cold front is crossing the central Tasman Sea, extending from just
west of Auckland Island to about 42S/156E. Strong NW winds ahead of
the front, with lighter SW winds behind as high pressure is building
in.
5) High pressure (1026mb) lies west to east across NZ. A weak ridge will
extend south from the high pressure along 175E.
6) A very broad and high amplitude trough is over the south Pacific with
an axis roughly along 145W, from 60S to 30S. N/NW winds generally east
of 145W, and SWílies generally west of 150W.

00Z WEDNESDAY (18-FEB-2015):
1) A high pressure ridge recedes west of Cape Leeuwin, and low pressure
(1014mb) will be over southwest Australia, moving south.
2) A cold front moving in the Wílies south of Australia will extend from
51S/129E to 46S/119E to 40S/104E.
3) High pressure (1023mb) will be moving southeast out of the Australian
Bight to just west of Tasmania.
4) A trough will lie south to north along 153E just southeast of Tasmania.
A low pressure (1017mb) may be embedded within this trough near
43S/151E.
5) High pressure (1023mb) near 48S/160E.
6) High pressure (1028mb) will continue to lie across NZ, lifting north
across the North Island. An associated ridge axis will lie east along
40S to the vicinity of 155W.
7) The broad South Pacific trough will shift east to an axis along 135W.
A low (965mb) will cut-off in the trough axis near 57S/137W. A cold
front will wrap out of the low and lie north to south roughly along
132W. Strong ñ gale force N/NNW winds ahead of the front, shifting to
strong W/SW winds behind the front.

00Z THURSDAY (19-FEB-2015):
1) A trough between 120E and 125E will be moving very quickly east.
2) A high pressure ridge will be weakening southwest of Tasmania.
3) Low pressure (1010mb) moves from off Tasmania to 45S/160E.
4) High pressure (1025mb) off the southeast coast of NZ near 46S/173E.
5) Low pressure (1018mb) develops east of NZ.
6) A cold front will lie from 56S/143W to 46S/160W to the Chatham Islands.
7) A ridge of high pressure will lie west to east along 41S from 160W to
high pressure (1023mb) near 42S/133W.
8) An intense Southern Ocean low pressure (965mb) will be near 62S/122W.
Strong Gale force Wílies are expected between this low and the high
pressure ridge to the north.

00Z FRIDAY (20-FEB-2015):
1) High pressure (1021mb) extends from south of Cape Leeuwin to 43S/130E.
Strong NW winds south of the elongated high to 135E.
2) A low pressure (975mb) near 59S/148E with a cold front extending north
to just east of Tasmania.
3) High pressure (1019mb) persists across NZ to the Chatham Islands.
4) Broad flow of SWílies from 180W to 160W south of 47S to the Ice
Boundary.
5) A sub-tropical low (994mb) may develop and move to 38S/144W.
