*** SYNOPSIS ***

00Z MONDAY (19-JAN-2015):
1) Moderate ESE/E trade winds extend from about 10S to 20S. Trade winds
will become less consistent and ease with distance south from about
18S.
2) Trades weaken and back E/ENE north of a ridge axis lying from 30S/20W
to 26S/30W to 24S/35W.
3) Stationary front lies from low pressure (1013mb) at 32S/45W to 34S/30W
to 37S/15W.
4) A high pressure (1018mb) lies west to east along 37S from 45W to 25W.
5) The westerlies are found south of this high along 39S.
6) Over the course of the day, low pressure (1004mb) will move east-
southeast with a trailing strong cold front moving northeast off the
Argentinian coast.

00Z TUESDAY (20-JAN-2015):
1) Eíly trades extend south to a ridge axis lying west to east off Cabo
Frio to a weak high (1022mb) near 28S/27W. A ridge will continue off
to the southeast of this high. The ridge and high marks the transition
between Eíly trades to the north and developing NW pre-frontal flow
around the southern side of the high pressure ridge.
2) The stationary front will still be present around 35S/30W to 38S/18W
to 39S/00E.
3) High pressure (1021mb) will lie south of the front 40S/12W.
4) A significant low (983mb) near 48S/37W will have a cold front wrapping
from the low center to just northeast of the Rio de la plate. This
front will move east/northeast with time.
5) Building NW pre-frontal winds will develop through the day from 30S
ahead of the this front, extending as far east as 20W by the end of
the day.
6) Behind the front, winds shift strong SWíly, and will be pushing
northeast to 37S at 30W through the day.

00Z WEDNESDAY (21-JAN-2015):
1) The sub-tropical ridge will continue around 25S, with a weak high
(1019mb) near 25S/30W.
2) The ridge will continue as the transition between E/NE trades to the
north and W/NW winds to the south.
3) Deep low pressure (962mb) will move to 52S/20W. A strong cold front
will move north to 30S at 30W and 41S at 18W. There is a strong NW
gradient flow ahead of the front, mainly east of 30W.
4) Behind the cold front, winds shift abruptly S, but relax SWíly a few
degrees latitude behind the front.
5) A high pressure (1023mb) will develop off Mar del Plata, with a ridge
extending to 36S/38W. This high will extend quickly east along 35S at
30W behind the front.

00Z THURSDAY (22-JAN-2015):
1) A zone of very light winds between 22S and 29S across a broad ridge at
30W. E/ENE winds to the north.
2) The cold front stalls at 30S/30W, and extending as a stationary front
330S/17W and 30S/00E.
3) A broad col region will be centered at 32S/26W.
4) Stronger Wílies will be found south of a ridge along 35S. The ridge
will lies to the east-southeast, keeping the Wílies south of about 37S
at 15W and 42S at 00E.
