Weather forecast 21/03/2015

First place Cheminées Poujoulat has sailed out of stronger N’ly winds and into lighter W’ly winds as they approach the Moroccan coast. They are sailing around the periphery of low pressure to their north over the Gulf of Cadiz. They should be able to remain in mainly following breezes sailing northeast along the Moroccan coast toward Gibraltar.

Neutrogena and GAES Centros Auditivos are still in the North Atlantic trade winds and sailing toward a high pressure ridge. They have a day to two more of this before reaching the ridge where they will tack toward the east and set up for their approach to Gibraltar.
The doldrums are relatively wide and very light for We Are Water and One Planet, One Ocean & Pharmaton. The crossing will be slow, with slightly better conditions to the
west compared to the east. They will not start to feel the NE trades of the North Atlantic until they are nearing the Equator.
Conditions are not really improving for Renault Captur as they sail off the Brazilian coast toward Cabo Frio in very light, squally, variable winds. This pattern really doesn’t improve in the next 24 hours, but there should be some building N’ly winds tomorrow.
Spirit of Hungary remain in decent NW winds ahead of low pressure, and look to stay in these favorable conditions for some time.

Weather forecast 22/03/2015

Working slowly northeast along the Moroccan coast, Cheminees Poujoulat is sailing in light SW winds around the periphery of low pressure over the northern Gulf of Cadiz. Neutrogena has reached the high pressure ridge in the north Atlantic, and tacked east to begin making their reach east in fresh to strong N’ly winds and their approach to the Gibraltar Strait. In the doldrums, We Are Water and One Planet are moving slow, but should break across the northern Doldrums boundary and into the moderate to fresh trade winds of the North Atlantic. Renault Captur has finally broken free of the lighter and more variable conditions they have been dealing with for the last week. They have entered stronger N tending NE winds blowing down the west coast of Brazil. Spirit of Hungary continues to make reasonably good pace, north with moderate to fresh S/SW winds pushing.
