A tricky spot for Cheminées Poujoulat as winds have eased in response to a sub-tropical low moving down from the North. There will be some changing winds and upwind sailing for the next day or so before more favorable winds return. Strong winds and associated weather systems continue to impact the fleet south and southwest of Australia. Across the Tasman Sea, conditions are moderated under high pressure.
Broad high pressure across NZ has kept winds light and progress slow for Renault Captur as they sail north to reach port and affect repairs. High pressure is expected to move east, and this will improve winds speeds, but N’lies will make for continued slow, upwind progress. Otherwise, winds are favorable for the rest of the fleet, including around an intense storm approaching Spirit of Hungary south of Australia.
