The TV set of the Barcelona World Race, which is situated in the Portal de la Pau, opposite the statue of Columbus, is one of the nerve centres of the race. Here daily videoconferencing with the skippers are held, and is also the scene of the Barcelona World Race LIVE, the first newscast of ocean sailing. Both events are open to the public and free of charge. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the Barcelona World Race!
Every day, between 9:00 and 10:00 hours (local time in Barcelona), videoconferencing with the skippers of the Barcelona World Race, an excellent opportunity to meet the protagonists of the race, witness their emotions and learn about their concerns during this adventure around the planet. Every day we connect with two boats by videoconference – or by phone if the satellite coverage in their area does not allow us to receive video from the ocean. The interviews are conducted by a member of the editorial team from the race and sometimes there are students from schools participating in the educational program of the Barcelona World Race involved as well.
Attending the live production and broadcast of LIVE Barcelona World Race is an experience. It takes place from 14:30 to 15:00 (local time in Barcelona) in two blocks: the first quarter to the Spanish program, and next to the Catalan news. This is the first newscast of ocean sailing and includes interviews with the skippers (held during the morning), the weather, on board videos, 3D animation fleet and other content. The show is presented by Eduard Berraondo (Monday to Thursday) and Victor Lavagnini (Friday and Saturday), accompanied by a member of the editorial team of the Barcelona World Race. It is a unique opportunity for all sailing enthusiasts but also for students and professionals from the world of communication.
