Spirit of Hungary, in port
Spirit of Hungary has moored tonight in the port of Bluff, in South Island of New Zealand. The team formed by Nandor Fa and Conrad Colman decided to head to the port last Sunday night to solve the mast slide issue on the mainsail and a problem with the keel, among other minor repairs. “We don’t see this stop as failure, but as this opportunity to learn from the thousands of miles we have already covered”, said Colman this morning in an email.
At 22:50 UTC 24 February (23:50 in Barcelona, 11:50 25 February in New Zealand) the 24 hour minimum duration has started. That is the smallest time any participants making a pit-stop have to wait before they can resume racing.
