Fair winds to a new IMOCA regatta
The Monaco Globe Series starts this Sunday
The Monaco Globe Series, a new IMOCA race, also included, just like the Barcelona World Race (organized by the FNOB) within the IMOCA Globe Series calendar. The Monegasque regatta consists of a non-stop, double-handed (two crew per boat) tour of the Mediterranean.
Departing from Monaco, the fleet will sail along the west coast of Corsica before rushing towards the Strait of Bonifacio, towards the Aeolian Islands to turn in front of Stromboli, and then onto Palermo, in Sicily. The fleet will sail towards the Balearic Islands before returning to the Principality.
Nine IMOCAs have taken the start on Sunday June 3 in an attempt to become the first to win the new trophy, which also scores towards the selection to participate in the Vendée Globe.
The FNOB welcomes the Monaco Globe Series and wishes its participants and organizers fair winds and following seas.
