Renault Captur have had another difficut night with gusts to 50kts but conditions have eased for them meantime and they are making steady progress towards the Falklands, making 12kts in 25kts of SW'ly wind.
Race leaders Cheminées Poujoulat are in the NE'ly trade winds of around 15-18kts. They are making about 10-11kts, probably just eased back slightly to protect the boat in bouncy, slamming conditions with such a handsome lead of more than 1500 miles.
Neutrogena and GAES Centros Auditivos are in slightly better Tradewinds than yesterday, about 13kts just now, and their breezes will veer more easterly, lifting them to a more eased TWA. They are off Rio with about 180 miles between the two. They should transition into the northern hemisphere on the 15th March.
We Are Water and One Planet, One Ocean & Pharmaton are just over 50 miles apart, Aleix Gelabert and Didac Costa going just a little quicker than the Garcia brothers, but both are sailing the same course one behind the other.
Spirit of Hungary are still in a good low pressure system making 14-15kts. Their ETA for Cape Horn is in three days time and, looking ahead, their forecast is good.
