Congratulations to the Monaco Globe Series
The fleet of the new IMOCA regatta finished the Mediterranean course in four days
The IMOCA class has reason to celebrate /is to be congratulated after the success of the new regatta of the IMOCA Globe Series World Championship. The nine participating boats completed the route of the Monaco Globe Series in just four days. The winning sailors duo, formed by Paul Meilhat and Gwenolé Gahinet on board the SMA, finished in 3 days, 19 hours and 17 minutes, establishing the first reference for this new race.
Departing from Monaco, the fleet sailed along the west coast of Corsica before rushing towards the Strait of Bonifacio, towards the Aeolian Islands to turn in front of Stromboli, and then onto Palermo, in Sicily. The fleet then sailed towards the Balearic Islands before returning to the Principality.
