A port tack for port
With We Are Water having arrived in Barcelona, the race continues in the Atlantic for Renault Captur and the Spirit of Hungary. Jörg Riechers and Sébastien Audigane have passed Madeira, around 160 miles to the south, and are continuing their long port-tack approach to Gibraltar, some 450 miles to the east.
They are forecast to arrive on Sunday, April 12th, and are sailing at around 9 knot averages.
Spirit of Hungary last night tacked east in the 12 knot trade winds, which are forecast to increase over the next 24 hours. Nandor Fa and Conrad Colman were at 0600hrs (UTC) about 740 miles south-east of the Canary Islands and 1,500 miles off Tarifa. They are forecast to arrive at Gibraltar around April 16th.
