The boat
Fruit is the yacht Michel Desjoyeaux and Vincent Riou sailed to victory in the Vendée Globe 2000 and 2004 respectively and with which Samantha Davies took fourth place in the solo round the world solo regatta in the 2008 edition. Following this, the boat underwent an extensive refit, whilst still being one of the most competitive and reliable IMOCA Open 60s on the international sailing scene. The refit finished in May 2009 and the boat was re-launched, incorporating the very latest technological advances. Fruit is a design by the French Finot-Conq studio, equipped with a double tiller and two kick-up rudders. It's equipped with a traditional mast and a double-spreader rig with the boom fixed to the foot of the mast. As the boat's CV suggests, it is fast and reliable and throughout it's over ten year life, the yacht has continually proved to be one of the best in the class.Technical Characteristics+
