Hipercor
1980 saw the birth of a new El Corte Inglés Group format, the purpose of which was to meet the needs of an increasingly large and diverse society with constantly evolving customs and behaviours. The first ever Hipercor was created along criteria similar to those applied to traditional hypermarkets in terms of their location, implementation and internal layout, yet with a wider range and the quality and guarantees typical of El Corte Inglés. Hipercor has adjusted to the requirements of a segment of the market which favours self-service whilst targeting a demanding customer base where quality outweighs quantity.
