Message from Neutrogena sent at 0700hrs

Hello all,

We had a great New Year's Eve on board Neutrogena - apart from the fact that we don't have any champagne on board, the atmosphere is good.

We are finally on our way, and it's a relief to be at sea.

The night was difficult with very changeable weather. We had between 0 and 11 knots, from the E, NE, N, NW, W etc.. We worked really hard swopping between the Code 0  and the spinnaker several times to push the boat hard and keep up with others, to within 200 meters.

We lost the leaders of the fleet due to a small patch that was rather difficult to cross to find the NW wind... But right now suits us well with wind of 8 knots, at a course of 321, boat speed 9.2 knots.

To see the television catamaran with their massive spotlights filming other competitors is surreal during the night, which is full of low clouds. You are in bright light when they are next to you, but unfortunately it's impossible to look at the camera or the boat because of the power of the spotlight.
