Xavier Trias, Mayor of Barcelona concluded the event organised by the editorial group Men-Car, by sending a positive message from Barcelona in support of the Barcelona World Race.
Likewise, Mayor Trias, in the presence of Marta Cardona, director for Nautic Press, handed the “Portada de Plata”(“silver front page”) to Andor Serra, CEO of the FNOB and the Barcelona World Race, for his experience and contribution in the promotion of sailing and enhancement of its values. The Mayor expressed that these awards reflect the image that Barcelona and Catalonia wants to project to the World, encouraging talent, innovation, professional excellence and internationalization, values with which Barcelona identifies.
Andor Serra, gave his thanks for all the support obtained from family and collaborators who have been by his side these past twenty four years, as well as Men-Car: “It is those difficult moments at sea, that make us strive ahead, that’s the way to make the best sailors and human relations. I’d like to encourage you all, sea farers and those on land, to continue sailing and working. From the Barcelona Foundation for Ocean Sailing - FNOB, we are working towards making the Barcelona World Race a sporting, technological and cultural event”.
